Intersection Appoints New Chief Marketing Officer and SVP of People
New York, NY – October 5, 2020 – Intersection, the leading smart cities media and technology company, today announced the promotion of Esther Raphael to Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) as well as the hiring of Ci Ci Holloway as Senior Vice President of People. Raphael and Holloway will report to CEO Ari Buchalter and will help drive Intersection’s growth as it expands its media, content, and ad tech solutions in major markets across the US and enables advertisers to connect with audiences in public spaces more effectively.

A recognized leader in marketing and branding, Esther Raphael has a proven track record for creating groundbreaking integrated programs that engage audiences and drive revenue for leading national advertisers. Promoted from her role as Senior Vice President of Marketing, Raphael’s new responsibilities as CMO will be leading all B2B and consumer marketing initiatives, including sales marketing, product marketing, branding, and content. She will also represent Intersection on the OAAA Marketing Committee.
As SVP of Marketing at Intersection, Raphael developed the go-to-market strategy for the launch of new markets, including Austin, Portland, Los Angeles, and the retail media partnership with Hudson Yards. She also led the launch of new product offerings, such as video, live streaming, and Campaign Impact Measurement, as well as national branding campaigns for Intersection. Raphael joined Intersection in 2016 from Condé Nast and Hearst, where she spearheaded world-class solutions for advertisers and developed large-scale experiential events connecting consumers, advertisers, and content. She is also a recipient of Condé Nast’s Marketer of the Year Award for her work at SELF.
Ci Ci Holloway joins Intersection’s leadership team as SVP of People. An innovative people, diversity and culture leader, Holloway brings a unique blend of expertise in developing talent, driving HR transformation, and fostering diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). She previously led similar efforts at some of the most visible brands in the world, such as Viacom and UBS, spanning industries including digital media, entertainment, and finance.
Holloway has chaired strategic committees for the Executive Leadership Council, served as the elected President of Women in Film Los Angeles, and written extensively about DEI topics including breaking biases, micro-inequities and how to reap the bottom-line benefits of an inclusive workforce. Holloway has earned numerous awards, including the Diversity Journal Magazine’s Women Worth Watching Award, the Debra Award from the Anti-Defamation League, and was named one of the 25 Most Influential Black Women in Business in Network Journal Magazine.
