Intersection and Charlotte Douglas International Airport Extend Advertising Contract Through 2023

New Agreement to Upgrade and Expand Digital Advertising Network

NEW YORK – May 7, 2018 – Intersection, the leading smart cities technology and media company, today announced a five-year extension of its advertising partnership with Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), with a mutual option to extend the contract for another five years.

Intersection first partnered with CLT in 2013, winning a competitive contract for the exclusive rights to sell advertising across the airport’s static and digital assets, including banners, wraps, spectaculars, dominations, wall dioramas, floor exhibits, and digital signage at baggage claim, main atrium, phone centers, and charging stations. As part of the new five-year agreement, which now extends through June 30, 2023, Intersection will also make a substantial investment to upgrade CLT’s existing digital display network, sell advertising on the CLT Wi-Fi advertising portal, and install additional digital displays in the airport’s new concourse area.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with CLT to update their digital display infrastructure and connect brands with millions of people who travel through airports every year,” said Scott Goldsmith, President, Cities and Transit, Intersection. “We look forward to driving new revenue for the Airport while contributing to a best-in-class airport experience for travelers from around the world.”

“Intersection has been a valuable airport partner for the past five years,” said Brent Cagle, aviation director and CEO of Charlotte Douglas International Airport. “Their investment in CLT speaks volumes about their commitment to provide a quality product. Equally as impressive, Intersection’s new and innovative approach to advertising inside the terminal complements CLT’s aesthetics while increasing revenue. We look forward to our continued partnership.”

Reaching nearly 185 million airline passengers annually, Intersection’s airport media engages travelers from the beginning of their airport experience up until they reach their destination. Intersection’s unique combination of strategy consulting, technology and media solutions helps airports understand customer needs and better communicate information to their customers and helps advertisers reach passengers across the customer journey.
