Intersection Wins Exclusive Advertising Contract with Seattle Streetcar, Expands Market Footprint

Seattle, WA – April 10, 2023 – Intersection, an experience-driven out-of-home media and technology company, today announced it has been awarded an exclusive contract with the Seattle Department of Transportation to sell rail and shelter advertising on the Seattle Streetcar system. Intersection will be the first-ever external contractor to manage and sell advertising on the system’s 8 streetcar vehicles and 22 transit shelters. The contract commenced on February 22, 2023, and will continue for five years, with two 1-year options, for a total of up to seven years.

With the acquisition of the Seattle Streetcar contract, Intersection expands and deepens its position in the Seattle media market – already operating as the exclusive advertising provider for both Sound Transit and King County Metro. The Streetcar contract expands Intersection’s urban reach, connecting with audiences in several key destinations: downtown, the Amazon campus, Seattle University, museums, and popular shopping districts. Seattle Streetcar is a slower-moving train that loops around the city’s dense core, sharing lanes with other vehicles in a mixed-traffic model – making it an effective channel for reaching pedestrians, as well as vehicular traffic.

The Seattle Streetcar is a modern streetcar system that consists of two lines, the First Hill Line and the South Lake Union Line. The First Hill Line consists of 10 stops and stretches 2.5 miles.
